Angel Tree

At Christmastime, the Angel Tree ministry gathers and distributes gifts for the children of the incarcerated.

Baptismal Preparation

Preparation of parents and godparents to understand the responsibilities that come with the Sacrament of  Baptism.

Baptist Hospital Ministry

Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion bring the Body of Christ to the sick and recuperating at Baptist Hospital in Kendall. 

Harmony at Green Briar Nursing Home

A group of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Lectors lead a paraliturgical service at this nursing home, where residents participate in it.

Homebound Visits

Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion and others visit homebound parishioners to bring them Holy Communion and to offer consolation, friendship and companionship. English and Spanish.

Knights of Columbus

Worldwide Catholic organization dedicated to assist the church according to need. There is a selection process to join the organization and serious commitment is expected of members.

Marriage Annulments

Certified advocates assist parishioners through the process of petitioning the Metropolitan Tribunal to declare a marriage non-sacramental.

Palace Nursing Home

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion lead paraliturgical services on Saturday mornings for three groups of residents of this nursing home.  They also assist our Pastor once a month in the celebration of Mass for the residents.

Respect Life

A ministry of the Archdiocese of Miami whose members uphold the sanctity of life from conception to natural  death.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

This archdiocesan organization provides emergency assistance to needy families in our community. Members of the society visit homes to determine need and offer assistance.

Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament

Adorers sign up for a designated hour of adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. The adoration chapel is open everyday 24 hours.  Each day different persons open and close the chapel.

Alfarero Prayer Group

A charismatic Spanish language prayer group that meets weekly for praise and worship in song and prayer.

Divine Mercy Chaplet

A Christian devotion to the Divine Mercy consisting of a set of prayers said on rosary beads, associated with the promise of mercy at the hour of death. English and Spanish. 

Emmaus

Archdiocese-approved weekend retreats held 2 times a year, open to men and women seeking to grow in their relationship with Christ, regardless of their present level of faith and practice, in English and Spanish.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Trained parishioners assist priests, when necessary, in distributing Holy Communion at Masses in the Parish.

Immaculate Conception Prayer Group

A Spanish language prayer group that meets weekly in the church to honor Our Lady and to praise and worship Our Lord.

Lay Vocation

A special “Work Blessing” is given at all Masses on a designated weekend, to acknowledge specific groups of professional and non-professional workers, as they are reminded of their lay vocation in the world.

Lectors

Trained parishioners who proclaim the Word of God at the celebration of the Eucharist.

Liturgical Art

(Altar and Environment)

Members of this ministry ensure that our church is appropriately decorated for the liturgical season, and that it is clean and orderly.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast

A group of men of the parish who meet on Saturday mornings in fellowship to share a breakfast and to reflect on selected Scripture passages. English. 

Music

Under the direction of the Music Director, this ministry’s main role is to support the liturgy and to encourage the participation of the congregation in praising the Lord in song. English and Spanish.  

Rosary of the Dawn

All parishioners are invited to honor our Blessed Mother by praying the rosary together at 6:30AM on parish grounds. English and Spanish.

Sacristans

Trained parishioners who are charged with responsibility to arrange the liturgical books, the vestments, sacred vessels, and other items that are necessary for the celebration of Mass.

Formation and Education

Formation and Education

Bible Study

Members meet on Monday evenings to study a book of the Bible for 10 or 12 consecutive sessions. Each session starts with a lecture or presentation followed by discussion. This is an ongoing, year-long ministry. English.

CCD

Catechetical program for children administered by catechists under the direction of the Director of Religious Education.

Fully Engaged

A religious education program for couples who are preparing for marriage.

Legion of Mary

Worldwide lay apostolic association of Catholics where men and women strive to grow in holiness through prayer and apostolic work in union with Our Lady. They are dedicated to the spiritual works of mercy. English.

Liturgy of the Word for Children

A religious education program where children hear the Sunday Scripture readings read and explained at an age-appropriate level by a catechist, under the direction of the Director of Religious Education. English and Spanish.

Marriages in Victory

International movement and apostolate of lay Catholics dedicated to the growth of married couples through retreats and weekly meetings for spiritual growth, in English and Spanish.

New Beginnings

A parishioner-to-parishioner presentation and parish resource for the orientation and introduction of new parishioners to the parish in three integrated parts: Interior life, parish life and lay vocation. Open to all parishioners. English and Spanish.

RCIA

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults – A process developed by the Catholic Church for gradually introducing prospective converts who are above the age of infant baptism to Catholic beliefs and practices. This ministry functions under the direction of the Director of Religious Ed.

Prayer and Life Worshops

A program consisting of 15 weekly tw0-hour sessions where participants actually learn the art of praying, that is, to communicate with God, through a practical method that goes from the first steps to the depths of contemplation. English and Spanish.

Talleres Esperanza

San Lucas

A ministry dedicated to the enrichment of faith and spirituality by means of workshops on various spiritual and faith formation subjects.  The workshops are presented several times a year and are animated by music and songs. Spanish.

Parish Life

Parish Life

Brazilian Group

Members meet for various purposes, such as festivities, prayer and worship. There is a Mass in Portuguese on Sunday evenings for the Brazilian community.

Events

Members of this ministry design, organize and implement parish social and cultural activities on an ad hoc basis throughout the year.

Gift Shop

Religious articles are for sale in the parish gift shop. Members take turns in attending the shop after weekend Masses.
